Ingredients
For the brownies:
½ cup salted butter, softened (1 stick)
¾ cup granulated sugar
Zest of 1 lemon
2 large eggs
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
¾ cup all-purpose flour
½ teaspoon baking powder
½ cup chopped pecan pieces
For the glaze:
¾ cup powdered sugar
1 ½ tablespoons fresh lemon juice

Prep: Preheat the oven to 350°F. Grease or line an 8×8" baking pan with parchment paper and set aside.

Make the batter: In a large bowl or stand mixer, beat the softened butter, sugar, and lemon zest until light and fluffy.
Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each. Stir in the lemon juice.
Add the flour and baking powder, mixing until just combined.
Fold in the chopped pecans until evenly distributed throughout the batter. -
Bake: Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth it into an even layer.
Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let cool for 10–15 minutes. -

Pour the glaze over the warm brownies, spreading evenly to coat.
