Ingredients

15.25-ounce box yellow cake mix
½ cup butter, melted (can substitute with canola oil)
2 large eggs, whisked
½ teaspoon vanilla
1 cup chocolate chips, plus more for topping if desired
½ cup chopped pecans

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a 9×13" baking pan with parchment paper and set aside.

  2. In a large bowl, combine the cake mix, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla. Stir until fully combined.

  3. Fold in the chocolate chips and chopped pecans, mixing just until evenly distributed.

  4. Scoop the dough into the prepared baking dish and press it down evenly with a piece of parchment paper or the palm of your hand. Add more chocolate chips on top if desired.

  5. Bake for 20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Avoid over-baking to keep them soft and moist.

  6. Let the bars cool in the pan for about 15 minutes. Then lift them out using the parchment paper and slice into squares.

Every bite is like a warm, comforting hug—don’t be surprised if they disappear in record time!
